Jerry Kolsrud, 82, passed away on Dec. 8, 2023, at his home in Shellsburg.
There will be a private family service.
Jerry was born on March 13, 1941, in Shellsburg, the son of Earl and Grace Evelyn (Lint) Kolsrud. He graduated from Shellsburg High School in 1959.
Jerry was united in marriage to Marilyn Cress on Aug. 15, 1959, at Zion Lutheran Church in Shellsburg. He worked maintenance at Rockwell Collins in Cedar Rapids for 40 years before retiring.
Jerry was a member of the Shellsburg Volunteer Fire Department and was the Mayor of Shellsburg for six and half years. The family also owned and ran Trustworthy Hardware Store in Shellsburg for many years. Jerry enjoyed hunting, fishing, whittling, bowling league, raising horses, and being a Boy Scout Master.
He is survived by his wife, Marilyn of Shellsburg; children, Eric Kolsrud of Shellsburg, and Jerilyn (Paul) Seaton of Shellsburg; grandchildren, Jacob Seaton of Shellsburg, and his daughter Gracey Seaton, Aaron (Brittany) Seaton of Vinton, their children Camden and Reagan Seaton, and Kody (Dana) Seaton of Shellsburg, and several extended family members.
He was preceded in death by his parents, siblings; Larry Kolsrud, and Mike Kolsrud, grandparents; sister-in-law Francis Kolsrud, and grandparents, Clarence and Mamie Kolsrud, and Al and Leone Lint.
