On Monday, Oct. 24, 2022, Jerry Jimmison, 68, of Cedar Rapids, Iowa, went home to be with the Lord. A visitation will be held from 4 to 7 p.m. at the Cedar Memorial Chapel Stateroom on Friday, Oct. 28, 2022. A funeral service will be held at Kingdom Encounter Church at noon on Saturday, Oct. 29, 2022, with burial taking place at Cedar Memorial Park Cemetery.
Jerry was born on June 21, 1954, to Henry and Mary (Whiteside) Jimmison in Humboldt, Tenn. He worked for Midwest Metals for 21 years. After he retired, he went to work for Home Depot.
He is survived by his wife, Nancy J. Jimmison; Mother, Mary L. Pledge; children, Heather Short, Bryan Grukley, Jerica Parker, Nicholas Thompson, Josh McCool, Kasseim Jimmison, Tanor Jimmison and Bailey Jimmison; siblings, Viola Jimmison-Bond, Carlene Hodges, Linda Pledge, Maxine Pledge, Joe Pledge, Isaac Pledge and Jarvis Pledge; along with a host of grandchildren, nieces, nephews and great-grandchildren.
Jerry was preceded in death by his father Henry C. Jimmison, Minister Isaac, sister Mary Jean, and his Uncle David Whiteside.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the family.
