"Billy Goat" Jerry William Foubert was born March 21, 1946, in Iowa City, Iowa, the son of William O. And Dorothy L. (Polton) Foubert. Jerry grew up in the North English community and graduated from English Valley High School in 1965. He was a member of the North English United Methodist Church. Jerry was married to Vicki Gerard on March 28, 1970, at St. John's Lutheran Church in Marengo. They later divorced. He farmed while working at Amana Refrigeration for 36 years. He retired in 2005. He was an avid hunter, fisherman, mushroom hunter and outdoors man. He enjoyed attending his grand-children's activities. Jerry died at his home near North English on Sunday, Dec. 7, 2014, at the age of
68 years.
He is survived by his daughters, Tabetha Lee Foubert and Katie (Mathew) Manning; and his two grandchildren, Ethan and Ella, all of North Liberty; a brother, Randy Foubert of North English; a niece, Amy (Scott) Trachta and their children, Nathan and Bailey of Topeka, Kan.; and nephew, Mike (Heather) Foubert of Indianapolis, Ind.
Jerry was preceded in death by his parents.
As a Celebration of Jerry's Life, a visitation will be held from 4 to 8 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 11, at the Powell Funeral Home and Cremation Service in North English. Per Jerry's wishes, he will be cremated and there will be no service.
In lieu of flowers, a general memorial fund has been established.
