JERRY L. "BIG JER" DIETRICH

Jerry L. "Big Jer" Dietrich, 63, of Cedar Rapids, died Tuesday, Aug. 23, 2016, at Oldorf Hospice House of Mercy in Hiawatha. A memorial service will be 11 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 27, at Phillips Funeral Home Chapel, 212 E. Sixth St., Vinton. Visitation will be from 9 a.m. to service time Saturday. Interment will be in Mound Cemetery, Watkins.
In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund has been established.
Phillips Funeral Home in Vinton is in charge of arrangements.
Jerry Lee Dietrich was born May 28, 1953, to Richard and Shirley (Possehl) Dietrich at Cedar Rapids. He graduated from Norway High School, Class of 1971. Jerry worked as an architectural sheet metal worker.
Jerry is survived by his mother, Shirley of Vinton; daughter, Michele of Cedar Rapids; son, Marty of Cedar Rapids; six grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and brothers, Jim of Norway, Terry (Karee) of Fairfax and David of Vinton.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Art and Anna Possehl and Ed and Mary Dietrich; father, Richard; brother, Ricky; and twin grandsons.
