Jerry 'Casey' Jones
JERRY "CASEY" JONES
Lincoln, Neb.
Jerry "Casey" Jones passed away peacefully on Wednesday, Oct. 27, 2021, surrounded by family after a sudden illness. After graduating from Benton Community High School in 1975, Casey joined the Air Force as a Munitions Systems Specialist, where he completed tours at Lowry Field near Denver, Colo., and Anderson AFB on Guam. After completing his service, he worked for the CRANDIC Railroad in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, for over 20 years. After briefly retiring, he moved to Lincoln, Neb., and began working for ADM. After his second retirement in 2019, he focused on his favorite hobbies, gardening, fishing with the grandkids and cheering for the Iowa Hawkeyes.
He is survived by four sons, Jeremy (Blakeney) of Denver, Colo., Elias (Michaela) of Omaha, Neb., and Dalton and Wyatt, both of Cedar Rapids, Iowa; along with seven grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his father, John S. Jones.
Anyone who knew Casey loved him. He was always quick with a joke, constantly had a smile on his face, and yet had a grit and determination to never let anything get him down, as he continually showed with his earlier bout with cancer and this latest illness. He will be deeply missed by all.
