Jerome Odell Culp, 53, of Cedar Rapids, went home to be with the Lord on Sept. 10, 2017. He will be cremated,
but a memorial service will be held at Gospel Tabernacle Church in Cedar Rapids at 11 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 16.
Survivors include a son, James Barton of Coggon; two sisters, Jeanette Culp of Hiawatha and Alisha (Johnny) Olsen of Boca
Raton, Fla.; a niece, Shiri Culp of Cedar Rapids; two nephews, Dario (Shauna) Culp of Hiawatha and Stiles Culp of Davenport; two great-nephews and a great-niece, all of Hiawatha; an uncle, Joe Hatchett of Waterloo; aunts, Mary of Cedar Rapids and June of Colorado; childhood friends, including Jessie Martinez and Dwayne Anderson, both of Cedar Rapids; and a host of other friends and family.
He was preceded in death by his grandmother, Olivia Mary Bell Hatchett of Cedar Rapids.
Jerome was born Dec. 1, 1963, to Occie Odell Culp Jr. and Georgianna (Hatchett) Culp, both of Cedar Rapids. Jerome obtained a small engine and repair certificate from Kirkwood Community College and worked at Sears. Jerome was a minister of music and played the drums at Gospel Tabernacle Church in Cedar Rapids.
Jerome will be missed by all.
