JERALD LEE DREISMEIER

Jerald Lee Dreismeier, 82, of Central City, passed away Monday, May 15, 2017, at the Dennis and Donna Oldorf Hospice House of Mercy, Hiawatha. A celebration of his life will be held at a later date. The family will greet friends from 4 to 7 p.m. Thursday, May 18, at Murdoch Funeral Home & Cremation Service in Marion. A private committal service will take place at a later date at Mount Clark Cemetery, Central City.
Survivors include his two sons, Mike (Sue) Dreismeier of Cedar Rapids and Joey (fiancee Millie McCoy) Dreismeier of Marion; three grandchildren, Eric, Caitlin and Chris of Cedar Rapids; five step-grandchildren, George, Adam, Shyann, Thor and Mason of Marion; three sisters, Delila Hayworth of Omaha, Neb., Joan (Don) Roth of Omaha and Darlene Dreismeier of Sergeant Bluff; and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Carole Dreismeier; two brothers; and one sister.
Jerald was born Jan. 28, 1935, in Crofton, Neb., the son of Joseph and Catherine (Meirose) Dreismeier. He proudly served in the U.S. Army. Jerald was united in marriage to Carole on Aug. 15, 1959, in Glenwood. He worked at FMC for 27 years until retiring. Jerald loved spending time with his family and tinkering in his garage.
