Jensen, Marlette
Marlette Jensen, 76, of Cedar Rapids, passed away Saturday, Dec. 12, 2009, at Cottage Grove Place, Cedar Rapids. Funeral services will be held at 9 a.m. Wednesday at Cedar Memorial Park Chapel of Memoires. The Rev. Carol Sundberg will officiate with private family burial in Lowman Cemetery, Runnells. Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. Tuesday at Cedar Memorial Park Funeral Home.
Survivors include her sister, Karen (Doug) Dutz of Springfield, Ill.; four nieces, Dana (Bob) Bowdish, Kara Washam, Kelly Purlee and Amy (Galen) Seaman; and five great-nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Martin and Faye Jensen.
Marlette was born Jan. 2, 1933, in Grand Mound, the daughter of Martin and Faye (Heiny) Jensen. She retired as assistant vice president with Merchants National Bank in Cedar Rapids, after 40 years of service, opening the Collins office branch as manager. Marlette was very active in the community. She was a member of the Cedar Rapids St. Paul's United Methodist Church, S.C.O.R.E. receiving the platinum award, Chamber of Commerce, AIB, as well as the Woman's Organization of AIB. She volunteered with the Cedar Rapids Symphony, Theatre Cedar Rapids and KCCK.
Memorial contributions may be made to St. Paul's United Methodist Church or Restless Leg Syndrome (RLS) Foundation.
