Jennings, Lawrence John 'Larry'
Lawrence John “Larry” Jennings, 71, of Wellman, formerly of Williamsburg, died Monday, April 9, 2012, at Mercy Iowa City. Funeral Mass: 11 a.m. Friday, April 13, St. Peter's Catholic Church, Cosgrove, with Father Edmund Dunn officiating. Burial will be in St. Joseph's Cemetery, Parnell, Iowa. Visitation: 4 to 7 p.m. Thursday at the church with a Knights of Columbus rosary at 7 p.m. and a vigil service to follow. A memorial fund has been established. Kloster Funeral Home, Marengo is in charge of arrangements.
Larry is survived by two sisters, Joan “Jo” Holloway of Omaha, Neb., and Kathleen Pulzone (Benny) of Wallace, N.C.; four nieces, Mary Frances Martinez (Larry) of Virginia Beach, Va., Kathy Allan of Fayetteville, N.C., Kelly Autry (Larry) of Fayetteville, and Patty Heath (Lee) of Greensboro, N.C.; and a nephew Eddie Pulzone of Maryland.
Also surviving are a great-niece, seven great-nephews, a great-great-niece and two great-great-nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; a sister, Mary Therese Allan; and a brother-in-law, John F. Holloway.
Lawrence John Jennings was born Nov. 3, 1940, in rural Parnell, Iowa, the son of Francis M. and Agnes R. Kinney Jennings. He attended the Parnell schools and worked with his father on the family farm, until they moved into Williamsburg. Larry was employed as a custodian and box maker at Williamsburg Manufacturing from 1977 to 1992. He then worked at the Fast Stop in Williamsburg. Larry enjoyed people and delivered Meals on Wheels for over five years. He was a member of St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Parnell for many years and then joined St. Mary's Catholic Church in Williamsburg. He was a first degree Knights of Columbus Council 2818. Most recently, he had been residing at Silver Pond Assisted Living at Parkview Manor in Wellman.
