Jennings, Catherine 'CB'
Catherine “CB” Jennings, 77, of Cedar Rapids, died Friday, Aug. 27, 2010, at Mercy Medical Center. Celebration of Life services: 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, Sept. 1, at Brosh Chapel in Cedar Rapids, located at 2121 Bowling St. SW, with burial to follow in Linn Grove Cemetery near Springville. Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. Tuesday at Brosh Chapel in Cedar Rapids.
Catherine was born Oct. 24, 1932, in rural Mount Vernon, the daughter of Frank and Nellie (Lentz) Richardson. She loved to cook and was known to her friends as “The Soap Opera Queen.” She cherished time spent with friends and family.
Catherine is survived by her children, Connie Michel of Cedar Rapids, Jack Jennings (Rick Windham) of Austin, Texas, Kay Jennings of Cedar Rapids, Kevin (Deb) Jennings of Lake Moor, Ill., and Denise Jennings of Cedar Rapids; grandchildren, Nathan (Michelle) Hines, Damon (Alicia) Hines, Dana Hines, Carly, Jenna and Paige Jennings, Kelly Jennings, Kaelyn Jennings (Amanda Gardiner), Travis Jennings and Orlando Jennings (Demetrius DuFauchard); 13 great-grandchildren; a great-great-granddaughter in January 2011; two brothers, Willis Richardson and Herbert Richardson, both of Cedar Rapids; a sister, Wilma Frantz of Anamosa; special friends, James Payton and former son-in-law Denny Michel; as well as numerous nieces, nephews and her Hawthorne Hills family.
Catherine was preceded in death by her son, Keith Bosteder; a brother, Dale Richardson; a sister, Marie Brown; as well as her parents.
Memorials may be directed to the family at 1970 Covington Rd., Palo, IA 52324.
The family would like to send a special thank you to Dr. Boddicker and staff at Mercy Medical Center and Chaplain Dan for their special care of CB.
