Jennifer Elizabeth McRae, 44, of Cedar Rapids, passed away unexpectedly Thursday, Dec. 15, 2016, at her home.
Memorial services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Dec. 21, at New Covenant Bible Church. Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Tuesday at Cedar Memorial Park Funeral Home.
Jennifer was born April 5, 1972, in Des Moines, Iowa, to Barbara (Rocca) and Richard Louvar, D.O. She graduated with a bachelor's degree in marketing from Coe College. Jennifer was united in marriage to Shawn McRae on June 20, 1998, in Cedar Rapids. To this union, two children were born.
Jennifer was a professional long-arm quilter. She owned My Dancing Needle, a custom quilting business, which she operated out of her home.
She was a member of New Covenant Bible Church. She was a proud member of Eastern Iowa Heirloom Quilters, MQS and MQX National Long-Arm Quilters Association.
Jennifer enjoyed knitting, crocheting, doll clothing, design and creation and reading.
She will be dearly missed by those who loved her.
She is survived by her husband, Shawn, and children, Keegan and Brenna, all of Cedar Rapids; parents, Richard and Barbara Louvar of Cedar Rapids; and brothers, Richard "Jon" (Tricia) Louvar of Sisters, Ore., and Jack (Jill) Louvar of Brandon.
She was preceded in death by her grandparents, Richard and Frances Louvar and Michael and Ada Rocca; and stepgrandmother, Agnes Rocca.
A memorial in Jennifer's name has been established.
