Jennie M. Dirks, 93, of Monticello, passed away Thursday, Sept. 2, 2021, at Monticello Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Monticello.
Visitation will be held from 10 – 11 a.m. Tuesday, Sept. 7, 2021, at Kramer Funeral Home in Monticello, where a memorial service will commence at 11 a.m. Burial will be at Oakwood Cemetery in Monticello.
Jennie was born on Feb. 22, 1928, in Monticello, Iowa, the daughter of Harrison and Dorothy (Costley) Rundle. She attended the Hardscrabble #9 School and then Monticello High School. She married Marion G. Dirks on Nov. 23, 1945, in Monticello. She worked many years at Collins Radio Co. in Anamosa and Cedar Rapids. She enjoyed her family, crocheting and tending to her plants.
She is survived by three sons, Mike (Connie), Douglas and Greg (Jean), all of Monticello; grandchildren, Bret Dirks, Scott Dirks, Eric Dirks, Andrea Dirks, Gregory Allen Dirks and Matthew Dirks; 17 great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren; and siblings, Daisy Heady, Dick Rundle, Carol Covington, Dotty Boland, Alma Brewer and Harriet Pillard.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Marion; a granddaughter, Wendy Dirks; and two brothers, Harrison Rundle Jr. and Robert Rundle.
