Jelinek, Josephine A.

 Josephine A. Jelinek, 89, of Cedar Rapids, died from complications of heart disease on Saturday, Dec. 25, 2010. Private graveside services will be held at Czech National Cemetery. Arrangements with Murdoch-Linwood Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Cedar Rapids.

 Survivors include her children, Jerry (Barb) Jelinek and Judy (Paul) Lillie, both of Cedar Rapids, and Arthur (Diane) Ashton of Phoenix, Ariz.; and five grandchildren, Jeremy Jelinek, Shawn and Brian Lillie, Angela and Amy Ashton.

 She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Charles; son, David; and sister, Rose Lewis.

 Josephine was born March 10, 1921, the daughter of Anthony and Rozy (Vondra) Karlik in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. On Jan. 13, 1941, she was united in marriage to Charles Jelinek in Bethany, Mo. He died Nov. 23, 2010. On Christmas Day she went to be with her husband. Josephine enjoyed cooking, sewing, working puzzles, playing bingo and shopping.
