JEFFRY T. BETZER
Cedar Rapids
Jeffry T. Betzer, 52, passed away Sept. 7, 2021, in Cedar Rapids, Iowa.
Jeff was a long-time employee of Mestek Machinery in Cedar Rapids. He is survived by his wife, Josie Ashmore; son, Samuel Ashmore-Betzer; daughter, Jessanne Kelman, (Texas); mother, Charlene (Steve) Baker; father, Todd Betzer; sister, Jennifer Zahorik; brother, Terry Merritt; and aunts, uncles, cousins, in-laws and many friends and co-workers.
Jeff was born May 8, 1969, in Cedar Rapids, where he grew up and went to school.
Jeff had a great, fun-loving personality! He liked jokes and pranks. He was a music lover, (though he could not sing), collecting and playing vinyl albums, and enjoying numerous stereo systems in his home, often played loudly. He was an auto racing enthusiast, enjoying watching NASCAR and sprint car racing.
He had a love of farming since childhood and cherished the time he spent at his Grandpa Baty's farm in Coggon, Iowa, and helping his father-in-law at the family farm in Bloomfield, Iowa. He was a hard-worker, enjoying and proud of his work at Mestek, and sometimes working two jobs throughout the years.
He loved his big dog, Cooper (deceased), and his current dog, Pablo, and all animals. He was a loving father. Jeff will be greatly missed by everyone.
Private services will be held at a later date.
