Jeffrey W.E. Ash, 53, Cedar Rapids, died at Oldorf Hospice House after a long battle with liver cancer on Nov. 16, 2024.
He is survived by his mother, Thelma Rutherford, two sons and one daughter, as well as four grandchildren; two brothers, Eric (Kim) Ash, Perry, Iowa, Jason (Holly) Ash, Cedar Rapids, and a sister, Monica (Ash) (Steve) Boozell; two beloved aunts, Judy Rathji and Rose Adams, both of Cedar Rapids, and companion of 13 years, Jennie Hinrichs, Atkins, Iowa.
Jeff attended Anamosa Community Schools for several years. Most of his adult life was spent working on cars and landscaping.
Jeff was preceded in death by his grandparents, Dale and Arlene French, and Millard and Ardie Ash; his father, Ray Ash; stepfather, Gene Rutherford; and four close uncles, Alan Rathji, Chuck McGuire, LeRoy Smith and Gary (Ralph) Gahl.
Jeff will be cremated. There will be a Celebration of Life Service Saturday, Nov. 30 At the Antioch Church off Highway 13 at 1 p.m. in the small chapel. No luncheon will follow but family will be gathering at the Pizza Ranch in Marion from 2:30 to 4:30 p.m. following service if you would like to join.
Jeff will be greatly missed by those who loved him and knew him best.
