Jeffrey R. Hupfeld, 42, of Marion, Iowa, passed away on Tuesday, July 15, 2025, at the Dennis and Donna Oldorf Hospice House of Mercy in Hiawatha, Iowa, surrounded by his family. In agreement with his wishes, cremation has taken place and no services will be held at this time. Murdoch Funeral Home & Cremation Service of Marion is assisting the family.

Jeff was born on June 3, 1983, in Vinton, Iowa, the son of Russell and Denise (Hagen) Hupfeld. He was a 2002 graduate of Vinton-Shellsburg High School and went on to complete his Ironworkers Apprenticeship, then went to work for the Local 89 Ironworkers Union. On May 26, 2017, Jeff was united in marriage to Jessica Holub in Marion. Time spent with his family was the most important thing to Jeff. He will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.

Jeff is survived and lovingly remembered by his wife, Jessica of Marion; daughter, Ava; parents, Russ and Denise Hupfeld of Vinton; mother-in-law, Marta (Brian) Philiph; maternal grandfather, Dale Hagen of Vinton; brother, Joel (Megan) Hupfeld of Urbana, Iowa; nephews, Coulter, Connor, and Cohen Hupfeld; and brother-in-law, Josh Holub of Cedar Rapids, Iowa.

He was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Carroll and Sherill Hupfeld; and maternal grandmother, Karen Hagen.

In lieu of flowers, donations in Jeff’s memory may be directed to the family for Ava’s education fund.
