Jeffrey “Dave” Borgenson / “Dave Miller,” 53, passed away on Thursday, Jan. 12, 2023, from some underlying health issues. Celebration of Life gathering will be from 4 to 7 p.m. Friday, Jan. 27, 2023, at Brosh Chapel and The Avacentre in Cedar Rapids, located at 2121 Bowling St. SW.
Dave was born July 6, 1969, in Cedar Rapids, the son of Charlene “Cherry” Rundall and Jeffrey Borgenson. Dave was a dedicated bartender in the Cedar Rapids area. He worked for a long time at Steaks by Thomas, Gas Light Pub at The Clarion Hotel, and most recently Leonardo’s. “Crazy Dave” enjoyed working, tending to his regulars and meeting new people. In his line of work, he met a lot of dear friends which he cherished. He was a real jokester with a huge sense of humor and enjoyed making people smile and laugh. Dave enjoyed listening to music, mostly ’60/’70s classic rock. He was an avid Minnesota Vikings and Iowa Hawkeyes fan.
Dave is survived by his mother, Cherry Rundall; father, figure Harry Miller; his siblings, Lissa Miller Slade, Nathan Miller and Maggie (Jeff) Davidson; grandfather, Lyle Hyke; seven nieces and nephews, three great-nieces whom he loved very much; as well as his aunts, uncles and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his grandmother, Charity Hyke; grandparents, James and Tamar Borgenson and Stephen and Helen Miller, and a great-nephew, Zayne Miller.
