Jeffrey Allen Bartmess, 45, of Martelle, formerly of Davenport, died Wednes-day, April 15, 2015, at University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics, Iowa City. Funeral services: 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, April 21, at Stewart Baxter
Funeral & Memorial Services, Mount Vernon (formerly Morgan's), by Joel DeSousa. Visitation: 5 to 7 p.m. Monday at the funeral home. Burial: 2 p.m. Tuesday at Summitt Cemetery, Eldridge.
Survivors include his wife, Venus; daughters, Valerie, Jessica and Eliza; mother, Bonnie (Harlan) Perry of Davenport; brother, William Earl Bartmess of Davenport; sister, Jennifer (Tony) Noble of Rock Island, Ill.; stepbrother, Craig (Kerri) Perry of Altoona; and stepsister, Tammi (Tom) Brown of Madrid, Iowa.
Jeff was born May 23, 1969, in Iowa City, Iowa, the son of Earl and Bonnie (Matzen) Bartmess. He attended North Scott High School and Hamilton Tech. He was currently working as a project manager for ADF Engineering. Jeff was a member of Cedar Valley Bible Church, Cedar Rapids.
He was proud of his mission work in the Philippines, traveling there several times and sending clothing and Bibles. Jeff was planning to support the ministry fulltime in his future retirement.
His greatest joy in his life was his four girls, Venus, Valerie, Jessica and Eliza. He was a good husband, father and provider.
Because of his belief and faith in Jesus Christ and the Resurrection, we know his soul is secure.
Jeff was preceded in death by his father, Earl.
