Jeff is survived by his mother, Joyce Oldorf of Hiawatha; his beloved wife, Julie; six children, Drake Christe of New London, Mason Christe of Marion, Logan Welcher of Robins, McKenzie Ward of Fairfax, Quinn Sandberg of Davenport and Grant Sandberg of La Crosse, Wis.; aunt, Judy (Ed) Schaeffer of Shellsburg; his dog and constant companion, Brooke; many other extended family; and lifelong friends, whom Jeff considered his family.
He was preceded in death by his father, Dennis Dunahugh; brother, Mark Dunahugh; and stepfather, Larry Oldorf.
Jeff was born on Feb. 23, 1966, in Cedar Rapids, the son of Dennis and Joyce Martin Dunahugh. He graduated from Kennedy High School in 1984. After graduation, he went on to trade school for HVAC. On Aug. 18, 2018, he married Julie Brink Welcher in Cedar Rapids. Jeff owned and operated Dunahugh Refrigeration for over 20 years.
Jeff was an avid fan of the Iowa Hawkeyes, Alabama Crimson Tide and Minnesota Vikings. He loved his many dogs, NASCAR, snowmobiling, riding his Harley and camping in Prairie du Chien, Wis. Jeff stood tall and reached a lot of people. He loved to see joy in others and left the biggest carbon footprints possible. Jeff believed in living life to his fullest, not to worry about what others thought, and encouraged others to do the same. He handed down a lasting legacy and will be truly missed.
