Jeff VandenBoom, 32, formerly of Cedar Rapids, died Sunday, March 9, 2014, at University Hospitals and Clinics,
Iowa City, following a sudden illness. Graveside services will be held at 1 p.m. Thursday, March 13, at the Calvary Cemetery, Quincy, Ill. Father Donald Knuffman will officiate at the services. Friends may call from 4 to 7 p.m. Wednesday at the Goettsch Funeral Home, 306 E. First St., Anamosa.

Surviving is his father, David, and special friend Angela Lee of Cedar Rapids; Jeff's girlfriend, Kim Sullivan, Coggon; his grandparents, Joan and Bernard VandenBoom, Quincy, Ill.; three aunts, Mary (Roger) Hartman, Springfield, Ill., Rita (Greg) Paulus, O'Fallon, Mo., and Leann (Wayne) Schuerman, Quincy, Ill.; and several cousins.
Jeffrey David VandenBoom was born Dec. 7, 1981, in Quincy, Ill. He was the son of David and Carrie Northcutt VandenBoom. Jeff graduated from the Mount Pleasant Senior High School in 2000. He had worked at Wal-Mart and for the University of Iowa.
Jeff was Ducks Unlimited Volunteer and volunteer at the Coggon Fire Department and had been an Eagle Scout. He loved to fish, trap and go raccoon
hunting.
