Jeff L. Orcutt, 54, of Cedar Rapids, passed away Wednesday, July 26, 2017, at his home following a brief battle with ALS. Family will greet friends from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Monday, July 31, at Hillside Wesleyan Church in Cedar Rapids. Service will begin at 1 p.m., conducted by the Rev. Kirk Statler and the Rev. Bill Reirden. Burial will be held at a later date at Linwood Cemetery, Cedar Rapids. Arrangements by Murdoch-Linwood Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Cedar Rapids.
Survivors include his wife, Cindy of Cedar Rapids; son, Anthony Orcutt of Cedar Rapids; grandson, Shadow Orcutt of Cedar Rapids; granddaughter, Madisen Godbey of Marion; brothers, Lonny (Diana) Orcutt of Cedar Rapids and Terry Orcutt of Florida; and nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; daughter, April (Orcutt) Godbey; and grandparents.
Jeff was born Oct. 7, 1962, in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, son of Thomas and Fern (Raymond) Orcutt. He graduated from Jefferson High School in 1981. On March 20, 1982, Jeff married Cindy (Knapp) Orcutt in Cedar Rapids. Jeff was a self-employed contractor in Cedar Rapids for many years. He was an Army veteran, serving for 10 years during Desert Storm. Jeff was a member at Hillside Wesleyan Church.
He had a special relationship with his aunt, Dee Dee, nieces, nephews and his church family.
A memorial fund has been established in Jeff's memory.
