On Friday, Aug. 13, 2021, Jebril James Brown, our loving son, brother, grandson, fiancee, father, uncle and friend passed away at the age of 30. He was born Nov. 20, 1990, in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, to James Brown and Yeelah Knight. Jebril was a foodie and gamer whose passions in life we're his children and living life to the fullest. He was a happy, fun loving, smiley baby who grew into a lovely man with a heart of gold. He was employed at the family business, Marion Iron, his entire career as a manager and will be missed dearly by many.
Jebril is survived by his mother, Yeelah, and her husband, Phil Knight; his father, James, and his wife and Jebril's stepmother, Rai Ann; his sister, Kathleen (Kate) Brown; his fiancee, Kelly Wagner, and their two children, Phoenix and Stone; his grandparents, Constance and William Ross; and many aunts, uncles and cousins.
Jebril was preceded in death by his brothers, Jacob and Isaac; his grandparents, Joan and Marvin "Pete" Brown; and his cousins, Ryan and Lilo.
A Celebration of Life will be held from 3 to 6 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 21, at Daniel's Park Splash-Pad Pavilion, 904 Oakland Rd. NE, Cedar Rapids, IA 52402.
We ask that in lieu of flowers, donations be sent to Jim Brown, 3627 Kegler Court SE., Cedar Rapids, IA 52403. All contributions will go to help Kelly and their two children.
