Jeannette D. Haymond, 103, of Cedar Rapids, died Monday, Jan. 20, 2014, in Northbrook Manor Nursing Home. A visitation will be held from 2 to 4 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 25, at Cedar Memorial Westside Chapel. Her body was cremated according to her wishes.
Surviving are her daughters, Jeanne Brubaker and Shirley Votroubek, both of Cedar Rapids; seven grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; and numerous great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; sons-in-law, Jack Brubaker and Leonard Votroubek; and a grandson, Larry Hefflefinger.
Jeannette was born Feb. 24, 1910, in State Center, Iowa, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Pheil. She retired from Wilsons/Farmstead Foods in Cedar Rapids, where she was instrumental and organized the P-3 Union. She later worked as a waitress for the Roosevelt and Sheraton Hotels. She enjoyed hunting, fishing and trips to the casinos.
