Jeanne A. Stiles, 70, of Coralville, passed away Monday, Nov. 16, 2015, at Lantern Park Specialty Care. A gathering for family and friends to remember and celebrate Jeanne's life will take place Friday, Dec. 4,

Jeanne Ann Stiles was born Nov. 3, 1945, in Staten Island, N.Y., a daughter of Jesse H. and Lucille R. (Driscoll) Stiles. She earned her bachelor's degree from Stony Brook University and went on to obtain her master's degree in special education from the University of Hawaii.
While in Hawaii, she enjoyed teaching, and later in her career, spent a majority of her time substituting where she could. Over the last 25 years, Iowa City had been home to Jeanne; before that she had resided in California and Hawaii.
She will be remembered as a very compassionate, caring and forgiving woman who had a passion for local volunteer work and helping wherever there was a need. She had a strong love for music, especially her classic rock, and enjoyed sharing her witty sense of humor with those around her. Even in her recent battle with breast cancer, Jeanne always had a concern for others; while at her chemo treatments, she would go out of her way to share her concern of those around her and do what she could to make their day a little better.
Jeanne's family includes her son, Jesse Ebersole and his wife, Michele, of Hilo, Hawaii; grandchildren, Jamie and Mari Ebersole; and siblings, Jim Stiles (Marge) of East Quogue, N.Y., Sean Stiles (Cathy) of Lake Grove, N.Y., Bradford Stiles (Tricia) of Iowa City, David Stiles (Michelle) of Smithtown, N.Y., and Patty Stiles (Wayne) of Vero Beach, Fla.. She also will be missed by many nieces and nephews and numerous extended family members, as well as her dear friends, including Mary Lou Lesser of Alexandria, Va., Donna Stiles of Honaunau, Hawaii, Claudia Posphisal of Iowa City and the Goodwin family of Coralville.
Gay & Ciha Funeral and Cremation Service is caring for Jeanne's family and her services.
