Jeanne Sramek, 87, of Cedar Rapids, passed away from Lewy body dementia on Sunday, Jan. 7, 2018. A visitation will be on Wednesday, Jan. 10, from 4 to 7 p.m., with a vigil beginning at 6 p.m., at Cedar Memorial Park Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, Jan. 11, at 11 a.m., with a visitation beginning an hour prior at St. Matthew Catholic Church.
Jeanne Therese Ironside was born in Cedar Rapids on Oct. 3, 1930, the daughter of Raymond and Geraldine (King) Ironside. She was united in marriage to James Sramek on May 24, 1951. She worked many years at Iowa Manufacturing Employees Credit Union. She enjoyed winters in Port Aransas, Texas, and traveling to northern Minnesota with her husband, Jim. Jeanne was a lifelong member of St. Matthew Catholic Parish.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; daughter, Jane; brother, Tom Ironside; and sister, Anne Fuller.
Left to cherish Jeanne's memories are her children, Judy (Bob) Lehman of Cedar Rapids, John (Susan McClodden) Sramek of Lady Lake, Fla., Jim Sramek of Cedar Rapids, Janice (Aaron) Haecker of Austin, Texas, and Joyce Sramek of Cedar Rapids; grandchildren, Andrea and Brian Lehman and Adam and Katie Haecker; and sisters-in-law, Pat (Lyle) Matthews of Marion and Mary Ironside of Cedar Rapids.
The family would like to thank Keystone Cedars and West Ridge Care Center for their kindness and compassionate care for Jeanne.
