Jeanne E. Sentman, 71, of Cedar Rapids, passed away Thursday, June 29, 2017, at St. Luke's Hospice, Cedar Rapids. Private family burial: Ridgewood Cemetery, North Liberty.
Jeanne was born April 8, 1946, in LeClaire, Iowa, the daughter of Bernard and Marietta (Hanchett) Bennett. She graduated from Bettendorf High School in 1964. Jeanne then went to UNI to complete her degree in education and finished her schooling at the University of Iowa with her master's degree in early childhood development. She married Richard Sentman in Cedar Rapids on June 5, 1971. Jeanne taught in the Cedar Rapids schools for 34 years and also part-time at Mount Mercy.
Jeanne is survived by her husband, Richard; son, Thad (Rebecca) Sentman; two grandsons, Joshua and Daniel; sister, Berneda Anderson; and brother-in-law, Robert Kloehr.
She was preceded in death by her parents; sister, N. Joyce Kloehr; and brother-in-law, Walter Anderson.
