Jeanne M. Oldenburger, 73, of Marion, surrendered herself to her Lord on Saturday morning, Oct. 17, 2015, at St. Luke's Hospital in Cedar Rapids. Celebration of Life services will be held at the First Presbyterian Church in Marion at 11 a.m. Tuesday, Oct. 20, 2015, with visitation prior to the service starting at 10 a.m. and followed by a luncheon. Services will be conducted by the Rev. Dr. Howard Chapman.

Jeanne was born on March 13, 1942, in Waterloo, the daughter of Victor and Julia Barron. She graduated from Waterloo East High School in 1960 and married Darrel Oldenburger on March 11, 1961.

Jeanne is survived by her husband, Darrel, of 54 years; three boys who worshipped their mom, Randy, who passed away in July, 27, 2012, and wife, Michelle, of Marion, Brian of Marion and Steve and Mary Oldenburger of Ofallon, Mo.; her grandchildren, Nichole Oldenburger of Marion, Megan Oldenburger and Kylee Oldenburger of Cedar Rapids, Sebastian Camacho of Ofallon, Mo., Erica Clark of Houston, Texas, MJ Grimaldo of Springfield, Mo., Jessica Grimaldo of Lubbock, Texas, Deric Mickens of New York, N.Y., and Darren Mickens of Marion; great-granddaughter, Jayden Mickens of Maple Grove, Minn.; and sister, Marlene Miller of Waterloo.

She has been greeted in Heaven by her son, Randy Oldenburger of Marion; parents, Julia and Victor Barron of Waterloo; her in-laws, Wilma and George Oldenburger of Waterloo; and her brother-in-law, David Miller of Waterloo.

Jeanne was a longtime Marion resident where she and Darrel owned and operated Darrel's TV for over 30 years. She was a faithful member of the First Presbyterian Church for many years and was involved in the board of directors of the Food Bank, served several terms as a deacon, and delivered flowers and lunches to numerous members within the congregation.

Jean and Darrel were a team in the deepest sense of the word. They were truly best friends and soulmates. Seldom did you see one of them without the other, whether they were out to dinner or running "for just a quick trip to the store." They traveled all over the country in their motor home with Gary and Maggie Rummel for several years before finding their favorite spot in Donna, Texas, where they spent their winters. Jeanne was a caring, loving person, always with a ready smile, and a wonderful friend to all who knew her. After retirement, she became an avid quilter. Numerous newborns and special people in her life were lucky enough to receive one of these works of art, cherishing them for many years past and years to come.

Jeanne was so proud of her family and would do anything for them, especially after she tricked one of her loved ones into going with her to one of her "infamous estate sales."

She will be truly missed by her family, many longtime customers, loving friends throughout the community and her two best furry buddies, Daisy and Coco.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be forwarded to the First Presbyterian Church to be used by the Marion Food Pantry, located at 802 12th St., Marion, IA 52302.
