Jeanna Marie McGlaughlin (Steciw) passed away unexpectedly in her home on Friday, June 7, 2024.
Funeral Services will be Thursday, June 13, 2024 at 11AM at Lensing Funeral & Cremation Service, 605 Kirkwood Avenue, Iowa City. Visitation will be from 4 PM to 7 PM Wednesday, June 12, 2024 at the funeral home.
Jeanna was born January 25, 1969 in Chicago, IL, the daughter of Roman and Judith (Wilson) Steciw. She had one brother, Joseph Roman Steciw.
The family moved to Oxford, IA where Jeanna graduated from Clear Creek High School in the Class of 87. She met the love of her life Dave McGlaughlin and married in September of 1994, where she became the stepmom to Sherry and Michael. A year later, almost to the day, Morgan was born and in 1998 Jared was born. Jeanna was all about family. She loved them more than anything.
Jeanna joined the Music Education Department at West Music in Coralville while in high school and loved working there every day for over 37 years. Her career closed serving as the Workshop Convention Coordinator. The people she worked with were like family.
She loved her family, meeting with friends, reading, all music but especially her favorite 80’s band Duran Duran, going on adventures with Dave and to all the concerts and live performances they possibly could. Her personalized license plate “EWDAV1D” showed her deep love for the TV series Schitt’s Creek. Many people approached Jeanna and told her they loved her license plate, or she simply saw them in her rear view mirror taking pictures of the plate. Jeanna also loved to share nail products as a ColorStreet representative. She earned high honors with her sales, by achieving the Senior / Elite stylist level.
Jeanna is survived by her mother; Judith (Wilson) Steciw; mother-in-law, Betty Jean McGlaughlin; husband, Dave; children; Morgan (Johnny) Habner-McGlaughlin, Jared (Julianne) McGlaughlin and stepchildren; Sherry McGlaughlin (Daniel) Eakin, Michael McGlaughlin; grandchildren; Sienna and Brooklyn; brother; Joseph (Jacqueline) Steciw; sister-in-law Cindy Paulus; nieces and nephews; Eric Paulus, Casey (Ibro) Tutic. She is preceded in death by her father Roman; father-in-law Robert; and aunt, Vickie Slick.
In Lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be directed to the UAV – Post 32 (Ukrainian American Veteran’s Fund) or a scholarship fund with West Music.
