Jeanette A. Weldon, 83, of Cedar Rapids, died after a long illness on Wednesday, April 13, 2016, at Evergreen Estates III, Cedar Rapids. Visitation: 10 to 11 a.m. Saturday, April 16, at Murdoch-Linwood Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Cedar Rapids, with a service to follow at 11 a.m., conducted by Deacon Joe Dvorak. Burial will be at a later date at St. Joseph's Catholic Cemetery, Parnell.
Survivors include her children, Irma Bell of Colfax and John Holder of Cedar Rapids; siblings, Donna Eyanson of Nevada, Iowa, Barbara (John) Rasmussen of Ames, Mary Novak of Ames, Darrell (Elaine) Ball of West Des Moines and Nancy Sodders of Ames; nine grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; and many nieces, nephews and friends.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Thomas Weldon; son, Darrell Holder; son-in-law, Michael Bell; and parents.
Jeannette was born on March 9, 1933, in Ames, Iowa, daughter of Byron and Ethel Ball. She was manager of the Cedar Valley Apartment complex for 14 years. On Dec. 10, 1983, she married Thomas Michael Weldon in Cedar Rapids. Jeannette loved crocheting, knitting, sewing and baking.
