Jeanette Coder, 90, of Marengo, Iowa, passed away on March 21, 2024, at Compass Memorial Hospital. A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date. Stewart Baxter Funeral & Memorial Services, Cedar Rapids, Iowa, is assisting the family.
Jan was born on April 21, 1933, in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, the daughter of Harry and Hazel (Snyder) Sproston. She worked for Collins Radio for 42 years.
Jan loved to be in charge. She was never afraid to help anyone in need. Jan went to the grocery store every other day. She enjoyed traveling, word searches, quilting, cross stitching, and above all, spending time with her family and grandkids.
Jan is survived by her daughter, Cynthia (John) Drahos; stepchildren, Morrein, Diane, Pam, Ted, and Gary; grandchildren, Tammy (Joe) Matheny, and Tina (Shane) Tremble; great-grandchildren, Allie, Emerson, Katie, Johnathon, and Hailey; and sister, Jean (Luke) Allsup.
Jan was preceded in death by her parents, first husband, Ted Croy; second husband, Kenneth Coder; grandson, Johnathon Paul Drahos; siblings, Robert, Kenneth, Mary Lou, Helen, and Jimmy; and dog, Diablo.
