JEANETTE EVA (FIENE) BLAZICEK

Jeanette Eva (Fiene) Blazicek, 101, died Tuesday, March 23, 2021, at Virginia Gay Nursing and Rehab in Vinton. Private family graveside services will be held Saturday, March 27, at Evergreen Cemetery in Vinton. Condolences or memorials may be forwarded to Larry Blazicek, 409 Sunset Dr., Fairfax, IA 52228.
Jeanette was born Sept. 4, 1919, in Keystone, the daughter of David and Lucy (Share) Fiene. She graduated from Keystone High School. On Sept. 11, 1938, she was united in marriage to Frank Blazicek on the family farm. Frank and Jeanette farmed near Shellsburg until retiring and moving to Vinton in 1977.
Jeanette was a longtime member of Wesley United Methodist Church in Vinton and the United Methodist Women's circle.
Survivors include her son, Larry (Marie) Blazicek of Fairfax; daughter, Sharon Hatfield of West Des Moines; four grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Frank, in 1990; her son-in-law, Don Hatfield; brother, Leonard Fiene; and sister, Geneva Gillis.
