Jeanette Anne Whiting, 85, of Ely, Iowa, peacefully passed away on Tuesday, Aug. 29, 2023. Murdoch-Linwood Funeral Home & Cremation Service in Cedar Rapids assisted the family.
Jeanette was born Sept. 6, 1937, in Cedar Rapids, the daughter of William and Dorothy (Stahl) Helm. She was united in marriage to Francis “Duane” Whiting on July 25, 1953, at the Little Brown Church in Nashua, Iowa. She worked at Rockwell Collins as an inspector for 24 years.
Survivors include her children, Darrell (Jeanice) Whiting, Deborah (Scott) Dawson and Dennis (Robyn) Whiting, all of Cedar Rapids; grandchildren, Tracy (Eric) Von Sprecken, RaeLynn (Ashley) Dawson-Jensen, Dirk (Melissa) Whiting, Drew (Melissa) Whiting, Brooklyn Whiting, Branden Whiting and Brittney Whiting; 13 great-grandchildren; five great-great-grandchildren; sister, Cheryl (Richard) Matus; and brothers, Chuck Langguth and Craig (Emmy) Langguth.
She was preceded in death by her father, William Helm; mother and stepfather, Dorothy abd Zuke Lannguth; her beloved husband, Duane Whiting, in 2020; and a sister-in-law, Diane Langguth.
A private family service for Duane and Jeanette will be held and the couple will be laid to rest together at Cedar Memorial Park Cemetery in Cedar Rapids.
