Jean A. Quinlan, 55, of Oxford, died Saturday, Dec. 3, 2016, at Marengo Memorial Hospital after a courageous battle with cancer. A funeral Mass will be held at 10 a.m. Friday at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Oxford. The Rev. Edmond Dunn will officiate. Burial will follow in Mount Calvary Cemetery in Oxford. Visitation will be from 3 to 7 p.m. Thursday at the church. A parish vigil service will begin at 2:30 p.m. Thursday. In lieu of flowers and plants, the family requests memorials be directed to Jean Quinlan memorial fund.
Jean is survived by her husband, Bill; two sons, AJ Quinlan and Jerry Quinlan, both of Oxford; sister, Charlet Daft (Larry) of Colfax; stepbrother, Terry Rachels (Mary) of North Carolina; brother-in-law, John Baxter of Clarence; stepmother, Betty Beavers of Colfax; stepsisters, Charlotte Smith (Paul) of Mingo, Twyla Berry of Indianola and Carol Berry of Colfax; her mother-in-law, Mary Quinlan of Oxford; brothers-in-law, Tony Quinlan (Marilee) of Coralville and Tom Quinlan (Rachel) of Oxford; sisters-in-law, Katie Villhauer (Jim) of Oxford and Suzy Quinlan of Iowa City; a beloved companion, Brody; and various aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews.
