JEAN GEORGE SCHINDLER

Jean George Schindler was born Nov. 6, 1938, in Troy Township, Iowa County, Iowa, the son of George & Della E. (Rogers) Schindler. He graduated from Williamsburg High School. In January 1961, Jean was united in marriage to Sally Tokheim. They later divorced. He farmed and was the administrator at the Iowa County Home for 20 years, retiring in 2005. Jean was a member of the First Presbyterian Church in Williamsburg and the Shriners. He enjoyed cars, was an avid Green Bay Packers fan and enjoyed going to his grandchildren's activities. Jean died on Sunday, Dec 2, 2018, at the Parkview Home in Wayland at the age of 80 years.
He is survived by his three children: Tracy (Juan Carlos) Tud of Palo Alto, Calif., Gene (Denise) Schindler Jr. of Tiffin, Iowa and Greg (Dawn) Schindler of Washington, Iowa; 10 grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and a sister, June Benson of Jacksonville, Fla.
He was preceded by his parents; and a brother, Willard Schindler.
Celebration of Life service will be held at 2 p.m. on Sunday, Dec. 9, 2018, at the Powell Funeral Home in Williamsburg. Burial will be in the Oak Hill Cemetery, Williamsburg. Visitation will be from noon until service time on Sunday at Powell Funeral Home. Memorials are for the First Presbyterian Church, Williamsburg.
