She was united in marriage to Robert Earl Elliott on Sept. 26, 1942, in Lancaster, Mo. She was employed for 27 years at Killian's Department Store, retiring in 1983.
Jean is survived by her daughters, Linda J. (David) Jandik of Cedar Rapids and Sheryl D. Neal of Williamsburg; five grandchildren, Robin (Matt) Shaver of Cedar Rapids, Kay Jandik of Iowa City, Ken (Amber) Jandik of Fort Myers, Fla., Amy (Ryan) Kay of Cedar Rapids and Beth (Zac) Keeney of Waterloo; five great-grandchildren, Joe Slaton and fiancee Jacey Martin, Raelynn Shaver, Cameron Shaver and Addison Kay, all of Cedar Rapids, and Landon Keeney of Waterloo; a great-great-granddaughter, Amira Shaver of Cedar Rapids; her sisters, Marcella Bruns and Anna Mae Komisar, both of Cedar Rapids; and many wonderful nieces and nephews.

Jean was a longtime member of Salem United Methodist Church, where she enjoyed worship, and before her illness, Cards and Fellowship Group and United Methodist Women. She had a strong faith that was an inspiration to many.
She loved gardening, crocheting, crafts, baking (especially her delicious cakes and Christmas goodies), Hawkeye wrestling and especially time spent with her family.
She lived at Higley Mansion for the past year and developed many friendships there. She loved living at Higley and prided herself in wearing many "hats" in order to be of help to the staff and residents.
We wish to thank the wonderful staff and residents of Higley Mansion for the care and friendship she received; the outstanding staff at Mercy Medical Center and the Oldorf Hospice House of Mercy for its care and compassion during her final illness.
