Jean Anne Larkin, 67, passed away on January 9, 2025, at home surrounded by her adoring family in Marshalltown, Iowa. A visitation will take place at 2:00 PM Thursday, January 23 in the Chapel of Memories at Cedar Memorial, 4200 First Ave NE, Cedar Rapids, IA 52402, immediately followed by a celebration of life at 3:00 PM.
Jean is survived by her husband of 48 years, John; her daughters and grandchildren, Marie, Abbey (Zachary and Dawson), Emily (Charlotte), Laura (William); and her sister, Kathryn. She was preceded in death by her son, James; her sister, Elizabeth; and her mother, Virginia.
Jean was born February 15, 1957, to Virginia Louise and Franklin William Randolph in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. She graduated from Marion High School. Jean married John Milton Larkin on February 14, 1976, in Marion, Iowa. She devoted her life to raising four daughters with John and they settled in Marshalltown. Jean loved gathering with her cherished family, admiring her flowers she planted, baking for celebration and making any day special, and sparking joy and memories with song and music. She expressed her happiness and devotion through photography of her beloved family and the flowers and wildlife at her home and on her travels. Jean’s kindness and positivity touched many hearts and her beautiful smile and playfulness will be greatly missed by her dear family and friends.
