Jean A. Thorson died Monday, March 13, 2017. Services: 1 p.m. Monday at Cedar Memorial Park Chapel of Memories. Entombment: Cedar Memorial Park Cemetery. Friends may call at Cedar Memorial Park Funeral Home from 2 to 4 p.m. Sunday.
Survivors include two sons, Martin (Rita) and Jonathan (Connie); and two daughters, Valeri (Terry) Thomas and Robin (Steve) Keep. She also is survived by 12 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband; and two brothers, William and Charles.
Jean was born on April 20, 1931, in Luzerne, the daughter of William and Neva Steffa Jahnke. She married Martin L. Thorson on June 26, 1952, in Van Horne.
Jean worked at Collins Credit Union for many years. She was past president of the American Legion Auxiliary. Jean was an avid reader, enjoyed gardening, going to the races at Hawkeye Downs, and especially the time spent with her beloved family and friends.
