Jasper, Daniel James

Daniel James Jasper, 16, of Cedar Rapids, passed away in Omaha. Visitation will be from 2:30 to 7:30 p.m. Friday, Oct. 14, at St. Patrick's Church, 500 First Ave. NW, with a vigil service at 5:30 p.m. Funeral services will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at the church. Local arrangements are with Cedar Memorial Westside Chapel.

Daniel was born Dec. 18, 1994, the first child of Dave and Kathy (Bockenstedt) Jasper. Sister Ellen joined the family in 1997. He attended Regis, Xavier and Kennedy schools and most recently Boys Town in Omaha.

He loved being with family, friends, sports and the outdoors.

In addition to his parents and sister, he is survived by his grandparents, JoAnn Bockenstedt of Manchester and Tom and Joan Jasper of Dyersville; and many aunts, uncles and cousins. He was preceded in death by his grandfather, Daniel Bockenstedt, and his uncle, James Bockenstedt.
