Jason Randall Thein "Jase Moon," 47, of Jesup, died of a heart attack Friday, Aug. 8, 2014, at Mercy Hospital in Dyersville. A Celebration of Life will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 12, at Murdoch Funeral Home & Cremation Center, Marion.
Survivors include his parents, Rodney (Rebecca) Thein and Carol (Moon) Thein; significant other, Meleah Thuesen, and her children, Preston and Tyler; children, Shelby Rohan, Taylor Thein and Gannon Carpenter-Thein; four grandchildren; grandfather, Frederick Thein; sisters, Tyann Thein and Heather Thein; one nephew; and two nieces.
He was preceded in death by his grandmother, Betty Thein.
Jason was born Sept. 28, 1966, in Cedar Rapids, and attended Marion High School. He had a great passion for the outdoors and loved spending his time outside. He also enjoyed reading anything he could get his hands on and playing video games. Jason had a full beard that he was very proud of and also was proud to be an extreme Batman fan.
