Jason Alexander Bradford, 28, of Center Point, died Tuesday, Jan. 29, 2016, at New Hanover Regional
Medical Center of muscular dystrophy.
He was born Feb. 5, 1987, in San Diego, the son of James G. Bradford and Shirley M. Niedermann. Jason was a poet, a writer and a teacher at the University of North Carolina at Wilmington, where he was pursuing a second master's degree: M.F.A. degree in creative writing. He received his first master's degree from the University of Northern Iowa in Cedar Falls.
He is survived by his mother and several aunts and uncles, Marilyn Carstensen, Eunice and Tom Jacobsen, Sandy and Jerry Schweer and Eldon Niedermann.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Gilbert and Bernadine Niedermann; and an uncle, Floyd Carstensen.
A celebration of life will be held from 4 to 6 p.m. Friday, April 8, at the University of Northern Iowa, Bartlett Hall, room 1039.
Memorials may be made at Wells Fargo Bank, deposit into Jason Bradford Scholarship Funds.
