Jason “Beef” Andrew Hutchcroft, 55, of Central City, Iowa, passed away on Saturday, August 9, 2025, at home surrounded by family. A celebration of life will be held from 11:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. on Saturday, August 16, 2025, at Murdoch Funeral Home & Cremation Service in Marion, Iowa. Private family inurnment will be held at a later date at Mount Calvary Cemetery in Cedar Rapids, Iowa.
Jason was born on November 18, 1969, in Cedar Rapids, the son of Jack and Diana (Brislawn) Hutchcroft. A talented tattoo artist for 30 years and currently at TenSix Tattoo & Piercing, Jason had a gift for turning ideas into permanent masterpieces. His creativity touched countless lives, though his quick jokes and easy laughter made just as lasting an impression as his ink.
When not in the studio, Jason could be found in the great outdoors with a fishing pole or hunting gear or parked in front of the TV cheering on the Saints or the LA Kings. Music was always part of his life’s soundtrack, whether blasting in the shop or humming along on a long drive.
Jason was known for his humor and for his ability to make everyone feel like an old friend. He had a big heart and a knack for finding joy in the little things. Though he’s gone, his stories will live on in all who knew him.
Jason is survived and lovingly remembered by his mother, Diana (Victor) Smith; brother, Chris (Darcy) Hutchcroft; sister, Joni Bruce; nieces, Star (Ken) Cooper, Alexa Hutchcroft, Khiana Bruce; great-nieces, Lianna and Lenyx Cooper; many aunts and uncles; and extended nieces and nephews, Michael, Myles, Mason, Max, and Mariya Visek.
He was preceded in death by his father, Jack Hutchcroft; paternal grandparents, Junior and Bonnie Hutchcroft; maternal grandparents, Owen and Violet Brislawn; uncles, Wilbur and Gary Brislawn; aunt, Julie Hutchcroft; and nephew, Brayden Bruce.
Memorials in Jason’s memory may be directed to the family.
