Jasa, Nicholas 'Nick' Dean
Nicholas “Nick” Dean Jasa, 24, of Cedar Rapids, Iowa, died Saturday, March 9, 2013. Services: 10:30 a.m. Thursday, March 14, at Murdoch-Linwood Funeral Home & Cremation Services, Cedar Rapids, conducted by Father Dustin Vu. Family will greet friends from 4 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home. Burial: Shueyville Cemetery, Shueyville, Iowa.
Survivors include his parents, Cindy Pint of Colorado Springs, Jaz (Cheri) Jasa of Solon and Theresa Jasa (Mark Smyth) of Fairfax; siblings, Jessica (Nathan) Dudymott, Devin Pint, both of Colorado Springs, Marcus, Matthew and Michael Jasa of Fairfax and Alyssa Hartwig of Cedar Falls; niece and nephews, Khloe Marion, Wyatte Nathan and Westyn Nicholas Dudymott of Colorado Springs; grandparents, Wanda Coulter of Colorado Springs, Mark Meader of Central City, Dick and Mary Jasa of Cedar Rapids, Keith and JoAnn Sankot of Fairfax and Dennis and Terri Svestka of Marion; and numerous aunts, uncles and cousins.
Nick was preceded in death by his great-grandmother, Lois Coulter; and grandmother, Janet Meader.
Nick was born March 24, 1988, in Colorado Springs, Colo. He moved to Swisher when he was 15 and graduated from Prairie High School in 2006. After graduation, he joined the Navy for five years and was stationed in LeMoore, Calif. with the VFA-151. Nick served aboard the USS Abraham Lincoln with two special friends, shipmates and roommates, Daniel Smith and Joey Pacheco. He returned home in September 2011, was working a part-time job and attending Kirkwood Community College. He planned to attend the University of Iowa this fall.
Nick enjoyed hunting and fishing with his dad and brothers. He was an avid video gamer.
We love you and will miss your contagious laugh, great smile and beautiful soul. We will see you again.
