Jarnagan, Virginia L.
Virginia L. Jarnagan, 87, of Cedar Rapids, died Thursday Dec. 12, 2013. Services: 11 a.m. Monday at First Lutheran Church, where a visitation will begin at 10 a.m. The Rev. Dr. Kay Slocum will officiate. Burial: Cedar Memorial Park Cemetery. Cedar Memorial Park Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
Survivors include a son, Harry W. (Anne) Jarnagan of Auburn, Wash.; and grandchildren, Douglas W. (Sandi) Jarnagan of Fremont, Calif., Michael P. Jarnagan of Tacoma, Wash., and Marianne V. Jarnagan of Seattle, Wash.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Harry W. Jarnagan; and a son, John Jarnagan.
Virginia was born Dec. 26, 1925, in Massaponax, Va., the daughter of William and Lena (Stoller) Grusy. She married Harry W. Jarnagan on Dec. 24, 1946, in Peoria, Ill. Virginia graduated form Eureka High School, Eureka, Ill., in 1944. She started her career as a Licensed Vocational Nurse. She then taught at Noah's Ark Preschool in Cedar Rapids for many years. She was a member of First Lutheran Church and enjoyed gardening.
