Janyce L. Johnston passed away peacefully on Wednesday, May 24, 2017, after a lengthy illness. Janyce was a believer and a follower of Jesus Christ and left this world and her children knowing that someday we would all be reunited again. Funeral service: 3 p.m. Tuesday, May 30, at Cedar Memorial Funeral Home with visitation two hours before the service. Burial: Cedar Memorial Park Cemetery.
Janyce was born Nov. 13, 1937, the daughter of Myron J. and Virgie L. Dolph, in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. She was married to Robert L. Hardin for almost 25 years and was the mother of five children. Janyce loved to cook this was her passion after being a mother first. She worked at Winslow House Care Center for over 20 years as its head cook.
Janyce was a loving mom and person who was always there helping others.
Survivors include her five children, Don (Donna) Hardin of New Virginia, Iowa, Tom (Teena) Hardin of Franklin, Tenn., Susan (Mel) Green of North Liberty, Sharon Hardin of Cedar Rapids and Elaine (Ray) Reyes of Cedar Rapids; 14 grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; one sister, Delores Shakespeare; and one brother, Danial E. Dolph.
She was preceded in death by her parents; two sisters, Donna Watts and Nancy Reentz; and two brothers, William P. "Bill" Dolph and John R. Dolph.
She will be missed, but leaves us with many happy memories.
