Janssens, Barbara Stiegler
Barbara Stiegler Janssens, 67, of Mount Vernon, formerly of Denver, Iowa, passed away Saturday, Jan. 12, 2013, in her daughter's Mount Vernon home, surrounded by loving family. A Celebration of Life for Barbara will be 4:30 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 15, at Mount Vernon United Methodist Church, by the Rev. Becky High. The family will gather to greet friends from 4 until 7 p.m. Monday at Morgan Funeral and Cremation Choices in Mount Vernon. Burial will be at Mount Vernon Memorial Cemetery.
Surviving Barbara are her daughter, Lisa (Neil) Janssens-Rud of Mount Vernon; son, Brice Janssens of Cedar Rapids; grandchildren, Eric and Josh Janssens and Tristan and Bailey Rud; a sister, Patricia (Les) Bass; and cousins, Susan, Robert, Linda and Kay.
Preceding Barbara in death were her parents, Albert and Cora Boaz Stiegler.
Barbara was born April 11, 1945, in St. Louis. She was the office manager at the Retired Senior Volunteer Program in Waterloo, retiring in 2006, when she moved to Mount Vernon.
Barbara was a member of the United Methodist Church, PEO, and volunteered at Hallmark Nursing and Rehabilitation and Cherry Hill Assisted Living, all in Mount Vernon.
Barbara was a vibrant woman who enjoyed golf and Pilates. She was faithful and participated in Bible Study and other church groups. Most of all, she loved spending time with her family.
