Janice Kaye Crow, 83, of Marion, Iowa, passed away on Tuesday, June 10, 2025, at the Views of Marion. The family will greet friends from 4:00 - 7:00 p.m. on Friday, June 20, 2025, at Murdoch Funeral Home & Cremation Service in Marion. A Funeral Service will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, June 21, 2025, at the funeral home, with an additional visitation beginning at 9:30 a.m. Burial will be at Springville Cemetery in Springville, Iowa.
Janice was born on September 16, 1941, in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, the daughter of Erwin and Georgia (Silver) Andersen. She was a 1959 graduate of Marion High School. On March 28, 1964, Janice was united in marriage to James E. Crow at the Union Church in Quasqueton, Iowa. Janice worked for Collins Radio for 11 years, while also assisting her husband farming their land near Marion. Together, they raised a son and daughter. She was an active 4-H leader and former director of the Linn County Fair Board for over 15 years. Janice will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.
Janice is survived and lovingly remembered by her husband of 61 years, James Crow; daughter, June (Adam Schrader) Crow Schrader; son, Jerry Crow, all of Marion; and three grandsons, Addison, Jeret, and Seth Crow Schrader (Kayley Greiner), all of Cedar Rapids.
She was preceded in death by her parents and brother, Nile Andersen.
In lieu of flowers, memorials in Janice’s memory may be directed to a charity of the donor’s choice.
The family would like to offer special thanks to the staff at the Views of Marion and Mercy Hospice for their loving care of Janice.
