Janice Diane Alderany, 72, of Marengo, Iowa, passed away on Saturday, April 15, 2023, at St. Luke’s Hospital in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. In agreement with her wishes, cremation has taken place. Murdoch Funeral Home & Cremation Service of Marion is assisting the family.
Janice was born on Jan. 27, 1951, in Wessington Springs, S.D., the daughter of Henry and Violet (Kramvieda) Madsen. She was a graduate of Huron Senior High School in Huron, S.D. Janice was a member of Marion Free Methodist Church. She was exceptionally crafty as well as generous and caring. Her house always had an open door. Janice will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.
Janice is survived and lovingly remembered by her children, Shane (Michelle) Madsen of Arvada, Colo., and Michelle Kimball of Aberdeen, S.D.a; three grandchildren, Nathan, Haley and Ashley Kimball; sister, Betsy Kelchen of Cedar Rapids, Iowa; and three brothers, Larry (Judy) Madsen of Marengo, Iowa, Leroy Madsen of Texas, and Kenny Madsen of Huron, S.D.
She was preceded in death by her parents; son, Dustin Madsen; and two sisters, Rose Price and Kathy Larson.
