Janice Lee Cecil, 79, of Peoria, Ill., formerly of Cedar Rapids, Iowa, died on April 1, 2023, at OSF St. Francis Medical Center in Peoria. Born on Feb. 22, 1944, in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, to the late Leslie and Mamie (Stock) Frink. Jan graduated from Jefferson High School in 1962, She married Jon Cecil on June 24, 2006, in Peoria, Ill.
Janice is survived by her husband, Jon; brother, Robert Frink of New York City; sister, Linda (Richard) White of Wadsworth, Ill.; son, Gary Eick of Marshall, Minn.; daughter, Angela Eliason of Watertown, Minn.; granddaughters, Kayla Eick of Tampa, Fla., and Ashley Eick of Marshall, Minn.; grandsons, Adrian Eliason of Tempe, Ariz., Zackary Eliason of Oakdale, Minn., and Tristan Eliason of Plymouth, Minn.; and great-grandchildren, Peyton, Frankie and Leland.
She was preceded in death by her parents and brother, Roland (Marge) Frink.
Janice spent her adult working life in the medical field as a nurse technician in Cedar Rapids and Memphis, Tenn., and in medical records in Marshall, Minn. Jan loved spending time with family, especially the grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Playing cards and dominos, board games, watching TV and working in the garden were things that she shared with all. She was a keen shopper and kept a very clean household. Jan was friendly and outgoing and she had a great sense of humor. She was a beautiful lady inside and out. She will be greatly missed by all who knew her.
Cremation rites have been accorded and graveside Interment will be held in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, at a later date. Memorial donations can be made to the National Autism Association. Cards can be sent from and condolences left at illinicremation.com.
