Janet M. Sumner, 74, of Cedar Rapids, died at her home, surrounded by family, on Thursday, March 26, 2015. Services: 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, March 31, at First Church of the Open Bible, officiated by Janet's granddaughter, Bailey Stuefen. Visitation: 4 to 7 p.m. Monday, March 30, at Murdoch-Linwood Funeral Home & Cre-mation Service, Cedar Rapids. Burial: Linwood Cemetery, Cedar Rapids.
Janet Marie Sumner was born May 30, 1940, in Monticello, Iowa. She married Edwin R. Sumner in Cedar Rapids on Sept. 23, 1960. Janet retired from US Bank in 2006.
She is survived by her husband, Edwin Sr.; three sons, Edwin Jr., Joey and James, all of Cedar Rapids; one daughter, Tracy Stuefen of Harpers Ferry; eight grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
Janet was preceded in death by her father, Bill; her mother, Alma; her son, Bud; her brother, Dave; and her brother, John.
