JANET KAY BOGE SCHMALFELDT

Janet Kay Boge Schmalfeldt, 70, of Wyoming, Iowa, passed away on Sunday, Dec. 10, 2017, at her home in Wyoming.
Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Thursday, Dec. 14, 2017, at United Wyoming Methodist Church. A visitation will be held Wednesday, Dec. 13, from 4 to 7 p.m. at Lahey & Dawson Funeral Services. Burial will be held at Wyoming Cemetery.
Janet was born on Aug. 30, 1947, to Arthur J. and Davidee (Gilmore) Boge in Anamosa, Iowa. She attended Anamosa School. She married George W. "Junior" Schmalfeldt in Manchester, Iowa in 1966. She worked at Clinton Engines, Doerr Electric and Citizens State Bank. She retired from Citizens State Bank after 32 years.
Janet enjoyed horses and music and loved to sing and dance. She also liked collecting purses and knick knacks.
Those left to cherish her memories are her children; Linda (Jeff) Petersen of Olin, John Schmalfeldt of Wyoming, Kenneth Schmalfeldt of Wyoming; nine grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; sisters, Mary Ann (Bucky) Williams of Center Junction and Kathleen Stimpson of Monticello; brothers Lyle Boge of Anamosa, John Boge of Stone City, Marty (Kathy) Boge of Anamosa, Kenny (Libby) Boge of Stone City, Raymond Boge of Monticello and Gerald Boge of Stone City; sister-in-law Susan Schmalfeldt of Oxford Junction; and several nieces and nephews.
She is preceded in death by her parents; husband; two brothers, Robert and Danny Boge; and one sister-in-law, Theresa.
Memorials may be directed to her family in her honor.
